Kok Sen Restaurant @ Keong Saik Street

Tucked away in rows of shophouses, this Cantonese old school zi char stall reminds me of Malaysian-style coffee shop. Never mind the inaccessibility and non-air conditioned, this place is packed by 6pm. I guess good food is the main reason for re-visits.

BIG PRAWN HOR FUN ($15/$30/$45)
We tucked in happily into this big serving of thick flat rice noodle's filled with smokey wok hei aroma and delish starchy gravy with a little hint of spiciness.

Another MUST EAT item would be their BIG PRAWN THICK BEEHOON
($15/$30/$45)
This is yet another of Kok Sen's signature dish. Like the Hor Fun, they use only fresh prawns where the meat can be easily removed from the shells. The broth is thick and comes with a slight spiciness of sambal chilli.

Lastly, we opt for their curry fish head. Was kind of disappointed given how satisfied we were with the 2 other dishes. The fish and vege did not absorb the fragrance and the delicious curry paste.
