Noryangjin Fisheries Wholesale Market
The market is open 24 hours and everyday, from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m., there is a seafood auction (starting with squid and then followed by fish). After the auction, the market opens to the general public from about 9 a.m. On level 2 of the market, there are some 250 restaurants specializing in sashimi and other seafood-based dishes and soups.
Customers usually buy their sashimi and seafood at the stalls on level 1 and bring it to those restaurants for processing.
(the restaurants provide the side dishes, liquor and prepare hot soup called “maeuntang” with a fee).
