The Netherands

I'm not exactly done with my entries on europe trip last spring.

Previous entries on my netherlands trips are here: http://missywanderlust.blogspot.sg/search/label/Netherlands

The last destination before the group left for Amsterdam and then to Germany -- Tourist visitor centre featuring Cheese from Holland, Wooden Shoes and the dutch Windmills.

The Dutch produce 650 million kilos of cheese every year. Two third is exported, which makes Holland the largest cheese exporter in the world. On average the Dutch eat 14,3 kilos of cheese per person per year. No wonder Holland has a worldwide reputation for being a cheese country.

Clogs keep your feet dry, are very safe and wearing them is even considered to be healthy. Currently, there are 25 traditional clog makers who like to demonstrate the profession of clog making. Little keychains makes a typically Dutch souvenir.

The photo album of your trip to Holland isn’t complete without a shot of the windmills at Kinderdijk. The nineteen mills were constructed around 1740 as part of a larger water management system which prevented floods. Now they’re a symbol of Dutch water management.
