THAI PAN @ MANDARIN GARDENS

Thai Pan is located within Mandarin Gardens and is just around the vicinity of Victoria School and Victoria Junior College. My colleague highly recommend this place and raved about their butter squid. If you are driving there, be sure to inform the guard that you are visiting Thai Pan so that they can guide you to the visitor carpark. The packed restaurant @ 7:30pm Broccoli with fresh crab meat. I have never tried this elsewhere and would say that although its a bit on the bland side, it does compliment well with the other flavourful dishes. Butter Squid ($8) - lived up to its name! People around us are all ordering this. Portion was just right and the buttery gravy was really fragrant with a hint of spiciness. Cereal Chicken ($8) - the portion is huge for the smallest order. Cereals are stir-fry till crispy.. you can even see traces of fried ginger which added to the fragrance. Phad Thai which I thought was decent. ...

[Hong Kong] Dim Sum @ Maxim's Palace City Hall 美心皇宫

Maxim's Palace is highly raved on many food blogs and so we followed suit and visited the flagship outlet for some really amazing dim sums. one of the best meals in Hong Kong. What I like about Maxim is that dim sum are served on trolleys - the traditional way and the joy of not being able to predict what food is gonna come by next. beancurd, har kow, fried seafood roll. some fried spring roll with mango and seafood. not much to rave about, polo bun. decent this crispy noodles served with seafood is really awesome. I'm not a crispy noodle person but this one really changed my mind completely. steamed turnip cake with canopy. good! BBQ pork pastry. I like how the char siew served in HK is less sweet compared to the ones here. rice wrapped in lotus leave. not my kind of food but my fren loves it. June Highlights Hollllaaaa!!! Exam's over. The last 2 weeks was all school and exam. A good break from the daily work. now time to blog about some backlogs. Lola's Cafe - totally love how my egg ben's is done. this is gonna be on my top fav for brunch. - their chicken wing is highly raved and not to be missed!! Address: 5 Simon Rd, S545893 --- Wheeler's Yard A truly extraordinary cafe which combines both cafe and bicycle workshop. Being a cycling enthusiastic, i just need to bring Des there for the experience. Thank god, we were there at 11am as the crowd starts strolling in by noon.
